The approved product list for each plant is configured in HublerX — mirroring the engineering and quality approvals for each SKU at each plant. Where a plant has not been qualified to produce a specific SKU (tooling not available, process not validated, quality approval not granted), that plant is excluded from transfer consideration for that SKU automatically.

How does the transfer recommendation account for freight cost?

Where the transferred SKU is produced for a specific customer or DC, HublerX calculates the freight differential — the cost of shipping from the receiving plant versus the original plant. Where the receiving plant is geographically closer to the relevant DC, the freight cost may decrease. The freight impact is included in the transfer recommendation for the planner to evaluate.

Can HublerX balance against a rolling 13-week horizon rather than just the current week?

Yes. The balancing horizon is configurable — 4 weeks, 8 weeks, or 13 weeks. Longer horizons allow earlier identification of structural imbalances that require plant qualification investments or capacity additions, rather than just short-term volume transfers. The planner can view the balance position at any point in the planning horizon.

What happens to the delivery addresses when production is transferred between plants?

When production is transferred from Plant A to Plant B, HublerX updates the delivery source for the affected customer orders — the logistics team at Plant B receives the dispatch instruction for those orders. Where the customer has a plant-specific relationship or a transport lane agreement with Plant A, this is flagged to the commercial team to review before the transfer is confirmed.
