HublerX calculates the transfer quantity as the amount that (a) brings the receiving plant's coverage back above its safety stock threshold and (b) does not reduce the sending plant's coverage below its own safety stock threshold. Where both conditions cannot be met simultaneously, HublerX flags the constraint and presents partial transfer options.

Can inter-plant transfers be set to auto-approve below a certain quantity or cost threshold?

Yes. Auto-approval thresholds can be configured by material, quantity, or transfer cost. Small, routine rebalancing transfers within the defined parameters are raised as STOs automatically without requiring planner approval. Transfers above the threshold are surfaced for planner review before the STO is raised.

Does HublerX handle the quality re-testing requirement for inter-plant material transfers?

Yes. Where an inter-plant transfer requires incoming inspection or quality re-testing at the receiving plant (based on material category or internal policy), HublerX triggers the inspection request on material receipt — the same workflow as a supplier delivery. The transferred lot is held in the WMS at the receiving plant until inspection is passed.

Can HublerX track the cost of inter-plant transfers against the savings generated?

Yes. The transfer cost — freight, handling, and quality re-testing — is recorded against each transfer record. The monthly supply chain review report compares cumulative transfer costs against the estimated cost of the emergency POs or production stoppages that would have occurred without the transfers.
